Write an artist bible that can evolve without losing its identity
Build a one-page artist bible with durable visual and voice rules while leaving room for new releases and events.

The short answer
An artist bible should preserve a few durable choices while leaving room for new songs, events, and moods. Define the person or fictional project, the sound, the visual constants, the voice, and the boundaries. Put releases and current events on a separate timeline so the artist can change without the core identity being rewritten every week.
The one-page template
Premise: Who is the artist, and why does this music exist? Sound: What musical choices recur, and what can change? Visual constants: Which silhouette, materials, colors, places, or camera rules make the work recognizable? Voice: What words and attitudes belong in public copy? Boundaries: What claims, likenesses, intimacy cues, and topics are out of character or unapproved?
Then add a short “story so far” section with verified releases and milestones. Do not write the entire future as if it already happened. A living artist can change direction because a new track, collaboration, or audience response changes the work. A rigid fictional biography often produces more contradictions than depth.
Two tests before generation
Give the bible to someone unfamiliar with the project. Can they select the on-brand image from three candidates? Can they identify a caption that sounds wrong? If not, the rules may be too vague. Next, try to write an unexpected but plausible new chapter. If every change seems forbidden, the bible is too narrow.
Let the next chapter remain open
Studio’s artist profile holds identity information; dated events and song information provide changing context for generated copy. That separation is valuable because a new performance should update what a caption can mention without altering who the artist is. The producer still verifies and approves each output.
Connect the work
Go deeper before the next release decision.
Put the insight to work
Give your artist a world that can change.
Create the artist profile, write a compact identity, and add one real or clearly fictional milestone.
